“Skip” Carpenter started the Green Dragon Bindery in 1964, when his antique business presented him the opportunity to do some book restoration. Having no real bookbinding experience, Skip experimented with trial and error. He took a course on bookbinding at the Cambridge School for adult education and various workshops with renowned book restorer, Bernard Middleton from England. Gradually the business grew, and the rest is history! Skip is long retired now and has passed the business to his daughter, Christine. He can still be found tinkering with his antique Buicks!
