“Skip” Carpenter started the Green Dragon Bindery in 1964, when his antique business presented him the opportunity to do some book restoration. Having no real bookbinding experience, Skip experimented with trial and error. He took a course on bookbinding at the Cambridge School for adult education and various workshops with renowned book restorer, Bernard Middleton from England. Gradually the business grew, and the rest is history! Skip is a history buff and collector of pre-1916 cars. When he’s not at the bindery, you can be sure he’s in a Buick!
